I recently bought a xt2 2 camera pack to supplement my existing 3 camera setup(2x XT & 1 indoor). Setup of the 2 additional cameras went fine. However after working fine for a day, one of the new xt2 cameras stopped connecting. Every time I tried to view a photo or live stream, I would get the following error - “The camera did not connect to the blink cloud. Is the camera in range of the Wi-Fi router?”
The answer to that question is of course, yes. It’s only a few meters away.
I have tried various troubleshooting steps to no avail:
- Move it close to the router
- remove batteries for 10 minutes and then retry
- use usb power adaptor
- reboot sync module
- reboot router
None of these made any difference. I still got the error.
I then deleted the troublesome camera from the sync module and tried to re-add it. It wouldn’t add the camera back. I got the same error message as above.
I received a spare sync module with the new XT2 cameras, so I set the new module up and tried to add the troublesome camera to it. That also failed with exactly the same error as above.
The camera does seem to power up as I get flashing red lights(5) when I put the batteries in but it doesn’t seem to be able to communicate with anything.
I have already raised this with support but as of yet received no response. I would appreciate any thought anyone might have. Feels like the camera is faulty to me.
