When can we expect to view our Blink Cameras on Android Tablets or Chromebooks

When can we expect to view our Blink Cameras on Android Tablets or Chromebooks. Viewing on a phone is a pain when you are in your 70’s with poor eyesight. My Arlo cameras are wonderful visable and are my Google cameras. Why the long delay in improving the viewing of our Blink cameras.

Blink mobile app already works on Android tablets. It has from the start. However, to support newer and better Blink features, older versions of Android and IOS are no longer supported.

There was and is no intent to support laptops and desktops. Why? Because Blink is a mobile app to be used on mobile devices.

I gotta ask, why is a 70 year old with a screen name slow learner purchasing all 3 brands?

Have two homes in different states and one has been broken into multiple times when we were gone. Thus I have tied numerous systems over the years and gone to cloud based systems. Used another system before my Arlos and they were a pain (can’t remember brand), but pain of changing batteries on Arlo is one of the reasons we have moved away from Arlo…still use 5 or 6 Arlos but have them hooked up to power now. The Google cameras are back ups and function great and have them at both homes. Went to Blinks when they came out and have now 10+ Blinks and love them but keep hoping to see them update their software and recognize that not everyone wants to see security on their phone. Have a work around on my Windows laptop but prefer to use Chromebooks when traveling or just reading. Will try to install Blink on my Amazon tablet now to see our lakehouse. Many thanks for your fast response. I check in on this issue one each year.

I think you’re ready for a commercial quality system like ADT, Simply-Home, Lorex, Samsung, etc. It does you not much good to have entry level homeowner quality and features in a high risk situation.

You are monitoring something far away. That’s why you use a mobile app on a mobile device. Get a 7 or 8 inch wifi only tablet. Dirt cheap for a used one and you’ll quit looking at the phone.

Blink camera are too easy to steal.

Had a commercial system to start with 10+ years ago that failed us. Cameras are simply part of our security system today. We have a caretaker with a dog on our property now and that has eliminated break in issues. Have Google Pixel (high end cromebook and top of the line HP chromebooks) that run almost all android apps I wish except Blink…have requested they consider updating their software to work with Chromebooks for 2-3 years now as have others. Just hope they are listening. Will install on a tablet and carry a third device on trips. If Arlo and Google cameras work great on chromebooks, I would think Blink might wish to give consideration to updating their software platforms. Mobile apps work on the better android chromebooks all the time…Why not Blinks?

Depends upon placement. Put your cameras high and a have a second camera cover the area where you placed your camera. We use a couple of game cameras on our property just in case power and internet goes off. And they worked last time very well.

You can also get an emulator like NOX or MEMU Play to view the cameras on your laptop. I had NOS, but it stopped working for me so I switched to MEMU

FYI - also works on the Kindle Fire. When my Android Tab died I needed a replacement, and it was Prime Day at Amazon, so I thought I would give it a shot, I found plenty bad about the Fire (No Google, Excel, MightyText or Voice to text), however the blink app does work on the Fire as well.
