I have 4 Blink Cameras and a couple of the cameras are in high traffic areas and bascially running out of battery power within a month or two.
We would like to keep them recording at all times, even during times of high traffic which is at varying times of the day. We also rent so a wired option is out of the question plus we really love the ease and functionalities of the Blink system.
My only option would be then to use the USB Power option on those cameras.
My questions are:
are there any specifications to what cable to use (yes I know its Micro USB) and what plugin charger to use or can we use just any one we choose? Also is cable length an issue? I believe one will be close to 12 to 15’ in length…
I know the camera won’t charge the batteries but if it is pulling power from USB and I have batteries in will it also still pull power from the batteries if left in or will the batteries act as a back-up and only be used if the power cable is pulled out or power is out (which would be an awesome feature)?
Thanks for any help!
