Rather than set up AC power around the perimeter of my property, I would like to know if this is already available, or if it can be assembled together from various sources.
I want to put a couple of Blink cameras at the extents of my property lines, to view my home and shop buildings from those vantage points. Is there a way to set up a larger GelCell battery (or a motorcycle or golf cart battery?) with a solar panel that can power these cameras, so I can just attach one to a tree or fence post, and NOT have to worry about the battery life or recharging concerns?
How do I address the 12vdc to 5vdc USB conversion? Would a power feed directly from a SIX VOLT battery kill the camera, or would the camera only take what it can use?
I would like to see a Blink camera model that REQUIRES an external 12vdc power source, with NO AA batteries inside to die and corrode over time, but rather, a simple and reliable waterproof external 12vdc power jack that can be connected directly to a standard 12vdc battery. Maybe use the two internal AA battery compartment spaces for a voltage converter? That would open up a lot of possibilities for this camera system.
