Hey there, we are having the same issue. There is a significant delay with recording time. We have one camera in the front and one at the back gate. Both are positioned for left to right movement.
The one in the front will usually just catch family members leaving the front door, about 7 feet away from door…so the door opened, they exited, and walked that far before it recorded. And when approaching the door, it usually catches the front door closing and the wreath wiggling. It will catch someone waiting if they knocked and are waiting. But if it’s a delivery, we only get a recording of a lonely package at the door if UPS does their knock and walk thing.
Back gate is pretty much the same. I see the dogs as they leave the gate area, but not as they approach the gate. If they linger and look through the fence I do see that as well.
I have played with the sensitivity, but it only seems to trigger more recordings, but does not improve the delay issue. Also, I start to get warnings of fast draining battery at those high sensitivity settings.
I will continue to try to figure this out. One is just feet away from the WiFi system, so connection issues should not be present. Both cameras act the same way. One is mounted higher and one is lower. I do not think it is a camera issue since it is both.
I have seen some example videos of people entering the edge of the frame and you see every step they take until they leave and I thought they were all suppose to be like that.
I’ve been working with this issue for several months. We received as a Christmas gift, but only set up a couple of months ago. Don’t think we can get replacements…
