My biggest %^$&# with security cameras is the absolute lack of clarity of the video. It is pointless to record someone pulling into your driveway to steal a lawnmower if the camera is not clear enough to capture the faces or the license plate. Cheap cameras produce cheap video, but I would rather pay a lot of money for a GOOD camera that gives me USEFUL video and still images.
The Blink cameras are pretty good, but they still cannot capture those razor sharp images I seek. I once considered buying several of the $2,800.00 SONY security cameras that CAN capture the kind of detail you need for investigative purposes, but the expense was too great for my resources back then.
My solution is to add additional Blink cameras positioned to capture nothing but the license plate as the vehicle pulls into the driveway, and another camera to capture the face of the person approaching the door. I place cameras to record whatever is less than ten feet in front of them, and the rest is just amusing but indiscernible video, like the trash truck video. That was a terrible accident, but beyond the general concept of a car rear ending a trash truck, it is useless.
