Unarmed in my case is a fully setup XT camera with sync module, camera and mobile app all communicating, with the toggle on the bottom right in the app set to disarmed. Can’t remember if there was a red light coming from the PIR upon initial setup, but the only time I’ve ever notice the red light in the PIR after setup is when the IR is active.
I originally bought the XTs to provide me a side view of my house that my wired front facing security cameras couldn’t. However, I wasn’t able to find a suitable location out of view from my neighbors for the XTs and decided to just keep it on top of my fireplace. I simply forgot about it. I was only reminded about the XT when I would get a notification from the Blink app telling me the batteries were low.
This sounds stupid, but I would replace the batteries 2 more times, noticing that the battery life was dreadfully bad, and after the second battery replacement decided to leave it alone for ~year w/o replacing the batteries, and since I wasn’t really using it I didn’t bother looking it up… Until now. I replaced the batteries 3 months ago, and the behavior is the same, it loses charge within 3 months even in an unarmed state.
Contacted support as Ronsec suggested. Thanks for the help.
