My best guess – it sounds like it’s similar to what happens with Motion Zones – that is, it will turn on the camera, record for a couple of seconds, and discard it is there’s no actual motion.
I don’t really want that, personally, because I’d rather optimize my placement so that I get fewer false alarms in the first place. I already have the “end recording early” setting, so I don’t think it would really save that much battery, and I’d rather have the videos, just in case the movement is subtle. BUT – it would be nice if we could set notifications based on that. I don’t necessarily want 50 notifications a day. (I have 5 cameras) But if the Sync were able to analyze the video and determine “yes, I’m 90% sure there’s real movement,” then yes, send me a notification. Otherwise, just save it and I can review it later if I need to.
