I have become so accustomed to the alert tone on my phone for Blink that sometimes I don’t even hear it. Especially at night. This tone of course is the same tone I hear all the other phones notifications. I really wish there was a way to have a unique tone for Blink alerts. This would be especially helpful at night to help wake me up for a notification for let say if SOMEONE WAS SNOOPING AROUND MY CARS OR IN MY HOME!! I won’t hear the alert tone because I’ve become so accustomed to the same ones in the phone. I want a unique tone or tones to choose from separate from all my other alerts.
That feature is not available in the Blink app, but there are apps you can download to customize alert tones. Sorry I don’t know the names off hand.
It is on the latest android version. The blue notification sound button let’s you pic custom notification tones.
Joel - I’m running Android 9 on a Google Pixel 2 and for the life of me I can’t find it. What am I missing?
Blue huge button on bottom = customize sound for notifications
Nope - not on mine. I may be using a different app version because I was involved in some beta testing.
I’m 3.310 Build 304201. That must be the difference.
Use two mobile devices. Lots of dirt cheap tablets out there that run on WiFi only. Use one device as a consumer/owner of a blink system. 2nd device use only for beta testing. You’ll need to be on a high enough android operating system for both of course. Beta test device needs to have auto update from Google play store turned off so you can manually control blink app version level updates. I don’t know how to version rollbacks. Something else to learn
Did you ever find out how to do this. I’ve been going insane the past 2 days trying to figure it out because the default should for the Pixel 2 is SO annoying. Just figured it out.
Glad you figured it out! I haven’t. LOL
Manage account (top left)
There will be a list of all of the notifications, if you click on the one you’d like to change, it will give you sounds options once you click on advanced.
