I have had my cameras for about a year and love them. Recently however, the cameras facing my driveway and front door have stopped detecting motion. I can still live view. Nothing has changed in settings, on how the cameras are pointed, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Both my cameras - one inside the front porch and one on the rear of the house, stopped recording motion yesterday. Live view works fine and the cameras are registering movement when I step in front of them (lights show, hear a click), but no recorded video or notification.
Have reset the sync module, and checked all the settings. Cameras have excellent connection to sync, and moderate connection to WIFI - but this hasn’t changed at all since installation. The cameras are armed.
I have the same problem with my porch camera it did not detect package delivery today. Odd, because it was working yesterday. Decided to pull batteries out and replace. It is working now, but the old batteries read 1.7v each on multimeter. So I don’t know if the problem was the batteries or just resetting the camera was the fix.
I disarmed and rearmed a few times and it seemed to be working last night. The Blink app wasn’t responding this morning, and neither was the motion detection, but a phone reboot sorted that. I’ll probably try reinstalling the app if it happens again.
I’m having the same problem. First my front camera stopped detecting motion so I deleted it from the app and re-added everything. It started working again. Now, my back door camera has stopped detecting motion as of this morning. Has there been a change in the updates for this has impacted everything?
Not that I noticed.
Try changing the batteries
I have the same problem. My xt camera on the back has stopped detecting motion. Live view works fine. Can we have someone from support to comment on this issue?
This is a community forum. It’s not monitored by blink. And if it was, they’d tell you to open a support ticket.
I’d advise trying to change the batteries first.
Also, calling support has always yielded better results for me over email.
I had the same issue with 2 cameras after changing batteries. I increased the sensitivity to max and adjusted down to met my needs.
Same problem, motion detection almost never works for neither of my cameras, ehen it does, it is faulty (there is no motion and it records) and I do not get any notifications on my phone.
Funny…I have the same story and exact same situation. Camera on my driveway stopped motion about a month ago and been trying turning settings off and on and no luck. Weather is a little warmer this week, was going to replace batteries even though the app says they are ok. Not sure what to do. Odd that I see a few of these threads with the same issue. This is from Sept…did you ever find what the problem was? Guessing the batteries needs changed or reseated.
Replaced batteries. The old batteries tested as 1.5v so they seem good. Not sure if taking old batteries out for over 10 seconds and putting them back in would have fixed it or not. I put new batteries in after a minute and it came back to life, motion is working again, etc.
1.5V when not under load would probably equate to 1.4V or less when under full working load. Check out the following data sheet and see where 1.4V puts a lithium battery in terms of its discharge profile.
As you will now have seen it is almost completely empty.
Thanks for the info. I was kinda thinking that, 1.5v when not under load. I don’t get why I could view the camera live and take a screenshot fine, but motion wouldn’t work. I would assume more power is required for motion and recording to happen, you would think the camera would know that the batteries are bad at that point. Camera said the batteries were ok.
Worst product ever brand new xt2 system motion detection and alerts aren’t working and if it does it’s a few minutes late and recorded nothing…what’s the point of having a security system with motion detection if the piece of ■■■■ doesn’t work
I have two blinkt XT’s. They both stop detecting motion once every 2 or 3 months (when you click on show live video, it just shows the video, so the batteries aren’t the problem). The only thing that solves it is getting the batteries out and inserting the exact same batteries in again. Can somebody please solve this bug? At least add a reset button in the app per cam, so you can restart it, without climbing any ladders to get to the cam and getting the batteries out to restart it!
I have the same issues, brand new system one camera doesn’t detect motion at all, and the other two don’t detect people walking by, only cars driving by. Really disappointed and will be sure to write my review accordingly. Support is non existent as well.
Same issue here, XT on my driveway stopped recording motion, batteries are showing OK, can view live motion no problem.
Taking the batteries out and putting back in seems to reset the issue, will take a look over next couple of days and assess.
As has been posted many times, do no rely on the app’s battery status. Install new batteries.
Battery issue is total nonsense… Taking the batteries out and putting back resets the issue, after which the exact same batteries work for months again!
