Sounds like support determined that camera was defective if they’re sending you another.
But it’s worth keeping in mind that distance isn’t the only factor that will affect signal strength for the 900MHz proprietary connection to the sync module, or WiFi signal strength.
What your walls are made of, what’s in your walls, other sources of 900MHz and/or 2.4GHz transmissions that could cause interference, etc. It can all make a difference.
