What we don’t know is how long must the batteries be low volt before the replace battery indicator comes on. Night vision requires the IR illumination to activate and that only happens during live view or during a motion activated event.
The pink/purple camera display is reported to be the IR filter not turning off. Also indicitive of low battery power. I had this for the last few weeks but didn’t bother to change batteries as I know dang well, the next time a firmware push goes out or a camera gets reset via app or remote reset, the pink/purple display goes back to normal. Without ever changing batteries, camera functions just fine during day as no IR is needed. Will it work at night = TBD.
Would want to do testing of remove batteries, let camera rest for a few minutes, then put the same battereries back in. Test operation. Repeat testing via changing out old batteries with new batteries. I am not convinced the clicking noise and pink screen and just low battery problems. I have a hunch it is also caused by failing electronics and/or a physical shutter/filter is moving in/out past the lense. Would have to take a camera apart to confirm/deny any physical parts are moving. Clicking noises = actual physical moving parts is my guess.
I already found a video of a sync module taken apart and how increase its wifi signal. Some day there will be a XT camera taken apart and posted in a video. OR I’ll do it myself.
