I live in a veterans home and I’ve had problems with theft. This year alone I’ve had six incidents and I believe they’re all from the same person. It started with clothes and the next thing was a skin care product, more clothes and then a ring from the mail. The next thing was perfume and the last item was a pair of earrrings. I’m so very thankful that nothing with sentimental value was taken through all of this. Someone suggested I should get a Camera. I went to Walmart and bought a $40 camera that was terrible, mostly because of the app for it. I’m an avid QVC shopper because I am not able get out much. One day the Blink camera was offered so I snatched the deal. It came with two Blink cameras and what I call “ The brain”. I was able to set everything up by myself without help from my son or a nurse. That is saying a lot. Word got around that I had a camera very fast. I haven’t had an incident of theft since then, that I know of. It doesn’t seem to really matter if the cameras are working or not. All of the certified nursing assistants now watch their Ps and Qs when they are in my room. It has been taken different ways by them. Some refuse to come into my room unless I’m there. Some of them walk over to the cameras to make faces or just say hello.
I have also bought a safe and you better believe that my sentimental valuables are going to be put in it. Thanks to Blink I don’t have to worry because I’ll catch the person if they try. Blink seems to have put a stop to this problem, I am so thankful. . It’s a really good system for what I’m using it for. I highly recommend that somebody in a nursing home that’s having problems with theft or abuse get the Blink system. Also, family members would be able to check on their loved one whenever they wanted to. That’s a biggie, also.
