My 2 cents: I find that most of the people who are not satisfied with Blink really didn’t do their research BEFORE buying. If you absolutely have to have the ability to record in live view ( I agree this would be great to have and has been requested many times) wouldn’t you research to see if Blink (or any other camera) met that requirement? Blink cams are not meant for high traffic areas, nor are any other battery operated cams. There are cams that meet that need but they cost far more than Blink. Battery life: my indoor cams are 2 years old. I have replaced the batteries in 1 camera only. My XT’s are over a year old and I have replaced batteries in 1 cam. My cams are scheduled to go on when we go to bed and go off when we arise in the AM. They are turned on manually when we leave the house. My Ring doorbell pro continuously monitors my front door but is only set to alarm when we go to bed. As far as developing further functionality, I truly believe there are many things in development. As far as Blink not being a security system, well, it’s not meant to be one. It’s just another layer to secure your home. I have an alarm system, Blink cams, Ring doorbell and a shotgun if all else fails. LOL
This post is not to disparage anyone’s needs, because in fact they are real needs to you, but to give another perspective.
